Design & Build for your home — renovation scope, timelines, cost, and how one quotation keeps it all under one roof.
Will the home be liveable during renovation? Can we live there or do we need to move out?
For most full renovations we recommend moving out during the heavy works (demolition, structural, tiling, ceiling) — typically 2–3 months. Smaller scope works such as carpentry-only fit-out or single-room updates can usually be done while you live in. We will advise based on your scope at the consultation.
What is included in your Design & Build service?
Our full-line package covers everything — space planning, 3D visualization, detailed working drawings, all renovation trades (structural, M&E, tiling, plumbing, electrical, ceiling, and more), custom carpentry, painting, and final handover. One team manages the entire process from start to finish.
How long does a typical renovation take?
A full residential Design & Build project typically takes 6–8 months from consultation to handover. The design phase usually takes 4–6 weeks, renovation works 4–6 months, and carpentry installation 2–4 weeks. Timelines vary depending on scope and property size.
Do you offer interior design without renovation?
Yes. We offer design consultation packages that include space planning, 3D visualization, and detailed working drawings. You can use these with your own contractor if you prefer. However, most of our clients choose our full Design & Build service for a seamless experience.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Johor Bahru and serve all of Johor. We also accept projects in other Malaysian states and Singapore on a case-by-case basis.
How much does a renovation cost?

Do I get one quotation or multiple quotes from different contractors?
One quotation from Mi Kuang. Our quotation covers everything — design fees, renovation works, custom carpentry, materials, and all finishing. You will not need to collect separate quotes from tilers, plumbers, or electricians. One transparent price, one contract, one company responsible for delivery.
Who carries out the renovation works, and who is responsible if something goes wrong?
Our interior designers and carpenters are fully in-house. For renovation trades — structural extension, masonry, tiling, plumbing, electrical wiring, CCTV & alarm, aircon, ceiling, awning & metalwork, and painting — we engage our trusted, long-standing partner contractors who work under Mi Kuang's direct supervision. All work is covered under one unified quotation from Mi Kuang. If anything needs attention, you contact us — not individual subcontractors. We are your single point of accountability.
